Magic on the Menu
If you’re a close-up performer and have always wanted to know how to break into the lucrative restaurant and bar magic arenas, here’s your opportunity to learn how from one of the genre’s experts.
Jim Sisti has been performing professionally for more than 20 years. He was the creator and publisher of The Magic Menu, the only magic periodical specifically for restaurant and bar performers. He was one of the featured performers in the Stevens Greater Magic video, The Art of Restaurant Magic, and was the restaurant magic columnist for Genii in the 1990s. More recently, his long- running restaurant magic column for MAGIC has been anthologized in a book, The Restaurant Magic Reader. The two bound volumes of The Magic Menu, published by L&L Publishing, are now in fourth printings. In addition to his own work, he publishes books and effects by noted mentalist Richard Osterlind and has appeared in all of Osterlind’s instructional DVDs. He also writes advertising copy for L&L Publishing in addition to serving in an advisory position for the company.
The lecture will consist of demonstrations and expositions of the best effects from ten years of The Magic Menu. All of the tricks have been selected based on two criteria: high audience impact and ease of method.
Even if you have no desire to perform in a restaurant, if you love close- up magic, you’ll find some excellent, easy-to-do, and extremely commercial ideas presented here.
